Holidays designed around the people taking them.

The Holiday Architect

Every travel planning conversation starts the same way. You have seen a place, read about it, been drawn to it by something. And so the planning begins there: flights, hotels, things to see.

It is a bit like assembling a jigsaw from the outside edges in, without ever looking at the box. The pieces fit together, but the picture that emerges may not be the one you were reaching for.

At Spirit of Travel, we start somewhere else entirely.

We work to understand who you are as a traveller. What gives you energy on a journey and what depletes it. How you like to move through a place, what your non-negotiables are.

From there, the focus shifts to the story behind the travel: why this journey, why now, what you are picturing when you imagine being there.

Only once that picture is clear does the destination come into focus. By then the choices that matter are obvious, and the ones that would have looked appealing from a distance but would not have suited you simply fall away.

How we get the complete picture

We ask each person travelling a set of questions separately. They cover territory most travel planning never reaches: what travel has felt like at its best, what was not a good fit for you in hindsight, how you like to move through a place, and what you want to feel when you come home.

The answers are read carefully before anything else happens.

Your Holiday Architect listens more than they talk, and asks the kinds of follow-up questions that bring to the surface things people have never quite put into words about how they travel. What emerges is a picture specific to you.

From that picture, we prepare a written vision of the holiday before a single booking is made. It describes the shape of the journey and why each element is there, and for many clients it is the first time they have seen the story they carry about their travels given word.

With that picture established, everything that follows is built on it: the research, the sequencing, the bookings, the detail that makes arriving somewhere feel easy rather than effortful. Your full itinerary reaches you before departure, personalised and annotated with the local context that matters.

We work with a network of trusted in-destination partners briefed specifically on who you are. If anything needs to be solved, the right person is already across it.

Who it is for

Spirit of Travel works with travellers who have the means and appetite for significant holidays, and who want the planning to start in the right place. Some arrive with a clear destination already in mind. Others are starting from nothing. In both cases the process is the same: understand who is travelling, understand what they are reaching for, then build the plan to align with that picture.

Before a destination is named, or before an existing one is confirmed, that understanding comes first.

Ron Montgomery, Founder

“Over many years of working closely with clients, I have seen how often meaningful travel ideas sit just below the surface. Sometimes they are long-held ambitions. Sometimes they are aspirations people have not quite articulated yet. My role is to listen carefully, ask the right questions, and help shape those ideas into holidays that feel considered, achievable and rewarding. It is a responsibility I take seriously, and one I am proud to carry on behalf of the people who trust me with their travel.”
